The Department of Surgery and The McGill University Health Centre is currently inviting applications for a faculty position in the Division of Urology at the McGill University Health Center. This is a full-time tenure stream appointment at the rank of Associate/Full Professor. The chosen candidate will be nominated to hold the Stephen Jarislowsky Chair in Urology. Candidates at the rank of Associate Professor will be considered depending on their demonstrated academic leadership and contributions. Must demonstrate excellence in clinical care and innovation, research and teaching.
The McGill University Division of Urology is composed of 17 full-time urologists dedicated to the achievement of excellence in clinical urologic patient care, research, and education. The divisional members practice at the McGill University Health Centre (adult and pediatric activities), the Jewish General Hospital, and St-Mary’s Hospital. The division is at the forefront of urological research in Canada and has achieved international recognition.
The candidate is expected to engage and develop an academic clinical practice and lead an innovative world-class research program in Urology. The candidate is also expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (research, teaching, supervision of graduate students and residents and involvement in academic and administrative committees).
Qualifications and Education requirements
Applicants must possess a medical degree and should have an expertise in either urologic oncology or endourology. The successful candidate must be an academic urologist licensed or eligible for licensure in the province of Quebec, whose commitment to research and academic excellence is recognized internationally. Having some knowledge of the French language, although not essential, would be considered an asset.
