The Manager provides leadership to the Radiation Oncology department, while overseeing the day-to-day business and clinical operations, including ongoing clinical competence and staff development. Key responsibilities include the ongoing assessment and support of the clinical programs for the radiation oncology center and assuring optimal quality care, safety and outcomes for patients and families. Supporting an interdisciplinary team approach to the overall delivery of care to patients and family members and facilitates an environment of collaboration and excellence. Collaboration with the Director and other hospital leaders to ensure operations are strategically aligned with mission, vision, and values of the Sarah Cannon/HCA organization.
Preferred Registration, Licensureor Certification
Radiation Therapist registered in the State of Kansas
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas
Minimum of 1 year in a hospital/ healthcare managerial role.
Demonstrated successful analytic, problem solving, organizational and prioritization skills.
General understanding of service line operations and clinical office procedures and practices; computer and filing systems;
Knowledge of radiation oncology billing and coding preferred.
Strong understanding and application of the business aspects of radiation oncology.
Knowledgeable in health care informatics-including the resources, devices and methods to acquire, store and retrieve data. Tools include computers as well as clinical guidelines, current medical terminology, information and communication systems.
Must be familiar with and committed to professional organization standards (i.e. ONS, ACOS, CoC, ASTRO)
Has working knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices as well as current rules and regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other regulatory agencies.

Works independently, but in collaboration with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist.
