The BMT Quality Coordinator, in collaboration with blood and marrow transplant medical providers, oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes in compliance with regulatory standards. This includes quality audit compliance, review and approval of policies and procedures, data analysis, patient, family and staff education, and coordination with outside community agencies. The BMT Quality Coordinator actively participates in quality management and oversees meetings and accreditation activities including all FACT and AABB accreditation processes. In addition, the BMT Quality Coordinator works collaboratively with the UCSD Quality Assurance Analyst (QAA) and BMT team to achieve successful FACT accreditation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or other healthcare profession
Area of Study would be knowledge of QI standards, clinical chart review and abstraction, accreditation standards and experience for a minimum of 2 years as a quality coordinator. Regulatory knowledge in the requirements of Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), and Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR)
2 years of experience in:
Knowledge of QI standards
Knowledge of QI models, tools and techniques
Analytical thinking and problem solver
Written and verbal communication acumen
Command of administrative and clinical software used for data gathering and analysis
CPR/BLS Certification (AHA)
California RN License
