The Manager, PSS Professional Home is responsible the hiring, training, deploying, and developing of Patient Service Specialist staff across the VUMC Adult Ambulatory enterprise. More specific responsibilities include hiring and developing teams, program development, patient and staff satisfaction, fiscal accountability, process improvement, technical system knowledge, and data analysis.

Additional Key Elements/ Responsibilities:
Partner with Human Resources and Ambulatory Operations to launch and lead development program for VUMC Patient Service Specialist staff.
Manage budgetary and labor processes to ensure that staffing levels meet financial expectations and operational needs.
Conduct outreach efforts within the Middle Tennessee area for qualified applicants to apply for positions at VUMC.
Review new hire applications, conduct applicant interviews, and make hiring decisions for new staff members.
Coordinate staff deployments into temporary and full-time vacancies within our clinics, in partnership with clinic leaders.
Manage staff performance, competencies, and other human resource needs during the period from hiring to full-time clinic placement.
Lead training and continuing education efforts for new and experienced staff through data review and collaboration across VUMC.
Consult regularly with stakeholders, such as Ambulatory Operations, Customer Care Specialists, eStar Training, VUMC Learning and Development, Patient Access Services, and Revenue Cycle, on organizational initiatives and staff training opportunities.
Track key organizational metrics related to front desk performance, such as point of service collections, scheduling and registration errors, patient satisfaction, and clinic wait times. Turn performance gaps into dedicated training and development opportunities.
Manage schedule of and develop content for Patient Service Specialist training opportunities.
Measure success of previously trained initiatives through data review.
