Overview
St. Luke's Health System in Boise is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Clinical Oncology team.
This position is a flex position, 0.1 FTE. Required to work at least one 8-hour shift per pay period. The clinic is not open on weekends or major holidays.
Position Summary
The St. Luke's Children's Cancer Institute is seeking an RN to join our team. The position will be providing hands on nursing care for Idaho's Pediatric Oncology population. This position will support the clinic as a float RN across primary nursing with providers, chemo infusion, and triage. The primary nurse provides care coordination or the provider's patients. Chemotherapy infusion nurses administer high-risk medications such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood products. This position will require hands on skills such as phlebotomy, NG tube placement, and other minor procedures for pediatric patients. The RN is the keystone to the complex, high quality, compassionate care the communities of Idaho and eastern Oregon have come to expect of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments
- Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework
- Performs therapeutic nursing interventions
- Manages care of patients
- Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
- Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery
- Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Nursing Degree
- Experience: Two (2) + years pediatric RN experience
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric Oncology experience
