Professional nursing includes teaching of health care and the prevention of illness; assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing care, and counsel; the administration of medications and treatments; the coordination and assistance in the delivery of a plan of health care; and, the teaching and supervision of other nursing personnel (Missouri Board of Nursing, 2012).
