The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA, has an immediate opening for two full-time, board certified/board eligible Hemotology/Oncologists. Shreveport is situated on the Red River in northwest Louisiana. Commonly known as the 'Ark-La-Tex', the point where Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas meet.  Highlights of this position include:

• Competitive Starting Salary $300,000-$354,000
• Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm., may be required to work unscheduled hours in case of an emergency or when on call
• Clinical duties will focus on General cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology
• Promotes, directs, evaluates and is responsible for the management of safe patient care to oncology and hematology patients
• Obtain a comprehensive health history and perform a physical examination on all patients who present to the Oncology/Hematology clinic or other assigned clinical area
• Order diagnostic studies and interpret laboratory tests, EKG, and radiology diagnostic
• Coordinate Oncology care between numerous hospital services including General Surgery, ENT, Urology, Liver Clinic, Women's Clinic and Palliative Care
• Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
• Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State

 Additional Requirements:

• Academic appointment at LSU School of Medicine is available but not required. (Board certification required if interested in academic appointment.)­­­­­
